About Us
PoppyRose Media is a full-service multimedia company connecting businesses to their online audiences and supporting local creators with tools and opportunities to flex their creative muscles. PoppyRose works with businesses to conceptualize, create and execute their video-based communications, whether that be internal (training videos) or external (digital marketing, social media, brand story).
PoppyRose Media was created by Edmonton-based Filmmaker Kyle Tobiasson. The name comes from Kyle’s grandparents; his grandfather “Poppy” and his grandmother “Rose.” Kyle has written, directed and produced short films such as First Impressions (2023), Standard Affairs (2024), and It’s a Girl (2025), created successful podcasts such as Snubs & Dubs: A Best Picture Podcast, and wrote an award-winning feature film script, Crimson Lake. As a lifelong storyteller, a film buff and with a background in business and marketing, Kyle started PoppyRose Media to put to work all his passions while helping others tell their stories.
It is our mission to work with local artists and foster the Edmonton media industry while supporting brands to tell their stories through the power of video.
